This artwork is a tribute to Thawan Duchanee's amazing art and a celebration of my recent trip to Thailand.
In this Unreal Engine environment, I've used a few photogrammetry assets I've gathered in the past few months.
These assets, such as the pebbles and scattered rocks, were created using Reality Capture; most importantly, the hero asset is a sculpture made by Thawan Duchanee that can be found at the Black Museum in Chiang Rai.
The cliffs are made using a single rock module I've sculpted in ZBrush and textured in Substance Painter, no special shader was necessary, given the purpose of this project.
The main tree was made simply using a picture I took in Thailand. I cleaned up some occlusion artifacts in Photoshop, and in Blender, I modelled the key features of the tree, propped it into place, added some subdivision, and sculpted some bulging features to make the silhouette more convincing.
The grass and parts of the ground are once again simply made using some of my pictures.
I hope you enjoy it!
